The Joint Probation Unions' Workloads Campaign launched at HMPPS HQ on the 26th June 2023.

Probation is full; unmanageable workloads must stop.

Protecting the Public. Protecting Our Members. Protecting Our Profession.

Excessive workloads put the public, our members and our profession at risk.

This campaign covers all grades and roles across the Probation Service.

What can I do?

  • Write to your MP, there is guidance (please make sure you follow this) and the model letter for you to adapt and send to your MP.
  • Add Operation Protect and workloads on to meeting agendas.
  • Refresh your teams background! For internal meetings you can use our Operation Protect background, for external meetings you could use plain yellow
  • Attend branch meetings and feedback to your branch about workloads in your area of work, this will support your branch exec to feedback issues locally and to be able to escalate issues nationally.
  • Wear Yellow at Work, especially on a Friday, to show solidarity with the Campaign, this could be even something little as a yellow tie, jewellery, scarf, anything yellow really, contact Napo HQ to get a Yellow Lanyard at info@napo.org.uk
